How much does it cost to install a new gas point?

From £XX for a cooker, hob or fire point run from nearby pipework. Longer runs to an extension or outbuilding are from £XX depending on distance and route. Send a photo of the meter and the destination and we’ll give you a fixed price.

Can you run gas to my extension, garage or garden room?

Yes. We run new pipework from the meter, sized for whatever it will feed, above ground or buried in the correct sleeve. It’s tested and certified like any other gas work.

Do I need a new gas supply from the network, or just pipework?

If you already have a gas meter, it’s pipework, which is us. If the property has no gas supply at all, the connection from the road to a new meter is done by the gas network, and we take over from the meter. We’ll tell you which on the first call.

I can smell gas. What do I do?

Don’t use switches or flames, open windows, turn the gas off at the meter if you can, and call the National Gas Emergency line on 0800 111 999. Once they’ve made it safe, we trace and repair the leak. See our emergency page.

Can you cap off a gas supply I no longer use?

Yes. If you’ve gone electric or removed an appliance, we disconnect and cap the pipework safely and test the rest of the system. A short visit at a fixed price.

Is all gas pipework certified?

Yes. Every job is done by a Gas Safe registered engineer, tightness tested, and you get a written record. New pipework in some situations also needs notifying to Building Control, which we handle.
